Union Budget 2024 makes cancer battle friendlier; raw deal for mental healthcare

Experts hope the marginal increase in health sector allocation will translate into higher public spending reducing out-of-pocket expenditure of individuals While out-of-pocket expenditure in India has reduced from 64.2 per cent of the total health expense in 2014 to 48.2 per cent in 2019, Indians still spend a substantial amount on medical care.
